Well classmates it's over and I hated to leave. We had a ball. It was a pleasure to see everyone and connect with classmates.
With this, please send photos from the picnic for our memory book to hhsclassof89@live.com.
Be happy, well, and blessed.

Just In Time for Easter!
It’s me Wanda “Bunnie Rabbit” Jones Wells. Trying to get acquainted with you guys and gals and give you a bit of history on my life. My life has had its share of ups and downs, but through it all I made it.
After high school graduation I had plans to go into the Air Force, but in June 1989 I found out I was two months pregnant. My first child was a boy “Devin” who I am very proud of. I then began my life as a mother working various jobs in Hammond, Louisiana. My life as a mother took on many different roles. I later had two more boys Denzel and Jamal Jones. I stopped there with having kids, seems like no girls were coming in the picture so that was it.
In 1995, in search of a new life, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There I began working in the housing industry as a leasing agent. Expanding my skills in housing, I later became a Property Manager managing several locations over the Atlanta area. I chose this profession because as a single mother I vowed that we would always have a place to live. Which is true until this day. I remained in Georgia for several years before returning to Louisiana at the request of my father. I would visit Louisiana quite frequently which is how I met my dear husband, Derrick Wells. In 2004, after blood, sweat and tear of my father I gave in and relocated back to Louisiana and began managing an apartment complex in Baton Rouge until the death of my father on February 3, 2005. Sometimes people speak to you in different ways and after my dad’s begging and pleading for me to come home, I now have no regrets because I did just what he asked me to do. Before his passing we spent a lot of time together. After all I was daddy’s little girl. But after losing my father, I went through a depression and stop working for a while to get myself back together. Coping with that loss was extremely hard for me.
Later in August of 2005, following Hurricane Katrina I began working again for the Ponchatoula Housing Authority where I am today. I began as a Housing Manager and has since been promoted to Executive Director of the Ponchatoula Housing Authority.
I currently reside in Ponchatoula. My husband and I share six children who we love dearly. Three are mine and three from his previous marriage. My oldest Devin “DJ” Jones, age 19, is in his second year of college at Southeastern Louisiana University with a four year athletic scholarship. He is an excellent football player. Our other children Denzel (15), Jamal (13), Bryce (14), Sage (12) and Devin (10) are all still in school. They all keep us very busy. Especially me, I am the centerpiede because my husband is a truck driver who’s gone on the road most of the time, but that’s okay because this Aries can handle it all. So until the next time or let’s say the 20th year class reunion I will chat with you all later.

Kevin Bennett Says Hello
You could always count on Kevin . . .
Hey ya’ll, it’s me Kevy-Kev (aka just plain ole’ Kevin). I figured I’d go on and post something in hopes that Denise will stop sending me death threats for not doing so. Seriously, I think it’s a great idea that we have something like this that provides a means to get reconnected and reacquainted, and I’m glad that Denise has taken the initiative to set it up.
Now if you’re still awake, I hope you’re seated because the rest of this can put an ox to sleep. Right out of high school I jerked around for a few months before joining the US Air Force where I became the youngest pilot to get shot down and held captive during the first gulf war. As I recall, McCain was there with me, but I am known to get my facts grossly confused. Honestly, I was in the Air Force and I did serve in the first gulf war for approximately 8 months, but I was neither a pilot nor a POW. My permanent duty station was Phoenix, AZ where I spent four years and was fortunate enough to run into a number of Hammond natives. At the end of the four years I returned to Hammond to attend Southern University. I can remember running into people like Denise Johnson, Silta McCraney (sp, sorry Silta) and Erica Betts, and thinking that I really had to get my stuff together because I was a freshman and they were seniors and grad students. Four years later, I finished with an accounting degree and landed a job at Pennzoil Company in Houston, TX. Four months later, I married Vivian Johnson of Amite, Louisiana and we’ve been raising three children (Kyle – 7, Kasey – 4 and Kevin – 3) here in Houston ever since. You may have noticed that things seem to happen in “fours” for me, but I guarantee you that we’re stopping at three children…I got a little insurance on that. I’ve been in the oil and gas industry for the last 10 years, so I encourage you to continue driving those gas guzzling, 25 passenger SUVs as often as possible. Personally, I’ve never been to Alaska to see an ice cap so who cares if they melt. I mean, have you ever seen the ozone??? Global warming is probably just a marketing tool to keep Al Gore employed. Anyway, nice talking to you and see ya next year.

First Up
Greetings Classmates:
I wanted a venue whereby our class could share information. I hinted around to a few classmates and no one bit, so here I am taking on the task myself. Yes, I do have a life, three high maintenance girls and an equally demanding husband, not to mention my job, but a woman has to have hobbies.
My life has been great. God has blessed me so. I often think of the choices I made and wonder if my life could have been any better. It simply doesn't matter. Whatever His will is I always strive to let it be done.
I entered the military in September of 1988 while still in high school. I was a member of the 31st Judge Advocate General Corps Army Reserve Detachment in Baton Rouge. After graduation, I went on to training to become a Legal Specialist and then to Southern University in Baton Rouge. I had my first daughter Courtney shortly thereafter and completed college in 1994 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. I worked for the State in various capacities until they worked me so hard I figured I should just go to law school and work hard with some fulfillment and money. I entered lawschool in 1999 with a husband, Frederick and a second daughter Imani. I completed my studies in 2002 and was sworn in as an attorney in 2003. I have been practicing civil law, administrative law, and mediation ever since. I currently work for the federal government trying to prevent and resolve Equal Employment Opportunity complaints. I have a three year old, Mariah, aka, "Boss Lady", who constantly reminds me that I'm almost forty.
Again, I can't wait to see how this blog develops. I'm open for suggestions and I'm hoping all of you will join and participate.
Denise
