First Up

Greetings Classmates:

I wanted a venue whereby our class could share information. I hinted around to a few classmates and no one bit, so here I am taking on the task myself. Yes, I do have a life, three high maintenance girls and an equally demanding husband, not to mention my job, but a woman has to have hobbies.

My life has been great. God has blessed me so. I often think of the choices I made and wonder if my life could have been any better. It simply doesn't matter. Whatever His will is I always strive to let it be done.

I entered the military in September of 1988 while still in high school. I was a member of the 31st Judge Advocate General Corps Army Reserve Detachment in Baton Rouge. After graduation, I went on to training to become a Legal Specialist and then to Southern University in Baton Rouge. I had my first daughter Courtney shortly thereafter and completed college in 1994 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. I worked for the State in various capacities until they worked me so hard I figured I should just go to law school and work hard with some fulfillment and money. I entered lawschool in 1999 with a husband, Frederick and a second daughter Imani. I completed my studies in 2002 and was sworn in as an attorney in 2003. I have been practicing civil law, administrative law, and mediation ever since. I currently work for the federal government trying to prevent and resolve Equal Employment Opportunity complaints. I have a three year old, Mariah, aka, "Boss Lady", who constantly reminds me that I'm almost forty.

Again, I can't wait to see how this blog develops. I'm open for suggestions and I'm hoping all of you will join and participate.

Denise
